Workplace Mystery Solved

There have been two mysteries in the office that I have noticed the last two days. I solved one of them. The fist is how to get hot water from the machine. It seems to me that most Japanese appliances are a little more complicated than the American counterpart, as it is in this case. I figured out how to do it first. I had figured out which button to push to get water but it was not working. The problem was that there is a light that shines down to show you where the water is going to pour out then you can pour the water out.

The second mystery is that there is an exercise bike set aside in the corner. I have been staking it out but have seen no one use it. I would like to use it but do not want people to think I’m an exercise bike riding fool. Considering that I sit all day it would be nice to have the work out, instead I’m climbing stairs.

Today when riding the subway I swear that my feet did not touch the ground as I was propped up between someone’s grandmother, a 6 year old boy, and someone who does not have the ironic nickname of stinky. I crowd surfed out, or it felt like I did leaving the car was a blur.

solving small mysteries in japan... sounds like you may have the premise for a cable drama on your hands....
