Ocean's amazing adventure in Tokyo

Okay, I am making an agreement with myself that I am going to update this once a day. I didn’t make this agreement before so maybe it will stick. Yes, I know that this is faulty logic.

I’m in Tokyo now and still suffering from jet lag, though am recovering. My first real night (meaning not the night that I arrived) I went to Shibuya where I ate, drank, and was merry. You may have seen this area of Tokyo in Lost in Translation when Bill Murray arrives and there is a dinosaur waling across a huge video screen, or in Tokyo Drift where the cars make the turn in the busiest pedestrian crossing in the world (over a million a day).

One of the things that Shibuya is famous for is Hachiko, the famous loyal dog. The story (in short) goes like this. Hachiko’s master was a professor and he saw his master off every morning and met his master at Shibuya station. The master died and the dog returned to the station and waited for his master (the wife moved away). In a side note Hachiko was one of the last purebred Akita dogs at the time and his popularity caused more breeding and now the Akita is still around. Way to go Hachiko!!

And here is another memorable attraction in Shibuya

Really though we didn’t walk around Shibuya very much, there is just so much to see that it all really almost blows the senses. I start my orientation on Monday, and my internship begins the following Monday.
