100 Yen Stores are like the General's Fried Chicken

Someone in my building told me that there was a festival at the temple located right behind where I was staying. So after breakfast I went to go see it. There were several men with pagodas jumping up and down in the street, booths right outside the temple where they sold shaved ice and what looked like water balloons on a string (that were used as yo yos). The highlight though was the kendo tournament. Kendo is Japanese fencing that is learning how to use samurai katanas using bamboo rods.

Later I went to the 100 Yen Store, which means that everything in there is less than a dollar. These stores are much better than the dollar stores back in the states because the quality of goods is much better. Jon Jon and I were there for about two hours just looking around. I bought this bath brush that I can use to scratch my back, or wash it.

It was a pretty boring day, tomorrow I have orientation.
