I don’t understand the American Music Awards and have made a decision that of all the music awards shows this is the worst. Even some guy in a basement making his decisions about music from a talking tree has more expertise about music than the people over at the AMA. Here is an example: Black Eye Peas won for best Pop/Rock group artist. I don’t have a problem with the Black Eye Peas, in fact Cassie is rather fond of them, but here’s the kicker… they also won for best Rap/ Hip Hop artist. It doesn’t end there, Mariah Carey got nominated for best female artist in the Pop/Rock category (but lost) and won for best female artist in the Soul/ Rhythm and Blues category; in addition she got nominated for best album in the Pop/Rock category. 50 Cent got nominated for best Pop/Rock artist (but lost) and also lost for best Rap/ Hip Hop best artist, and won for best Rap/ Hip Hop album. Green Day is another artist that got nominated and won in multiple categories (Rock/ Pop and Alternative). What is the point of having different categories if they can not place artists in one of them. This isn’t a debate if you can categorize music or not, if you choose to categorize music then follow the catorgories.
